A look back at the last decade - my 50's. i think these were very significant years in my life because a lot of life changing events happened.
The decade also brought a few health scares. My husband got very sick and went through almost every test known to man - nothing was ever found. Through the grace of God, he is still with me today. I've had my shares of scrapes and bumps. A stubborn goat not wanting to leave the milk stand, tore my rotator cuff resulting in a frozen shoulder (what fun that was!). Surgery and 4 months of physical therapy followed.
Somehow I survived the dreaded "Empty Nest" (much to my surprise!) and am now busier than ever. I do miss my son terribly and wish I could see him more often. But, alas, that is the life of a military family.
The decade was filled with joy, laughter, tears and pain (as it should be). But, all in all, there was more joy and laughter than the tears. It was a good decade and I thank God for watching over me and giving me such a wonderful life. I can't wait to see what the 60's bring!
